Hi, I’m Theresha.
If you've found your way here, chances are life has become more complicated, painful, or overwhelming than you'd like it to be. First, welcome.
Long before I became a therapist, I was the person friends and family naturally turned to when they needed someone to listen, understand, and help make sense of life's challenges. While I eventually earned degrees, licenses, and professional credentials, that genuine care for people and their stories has remained at the heart of who I am.
I grew up in New York City and earned my Bachelor's degree in Sociology and Human Services from Long Island University, followed by a Master of Social Work degree from Hunter College in 2004. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and provide therapy to clients located in North Carolina.
Over the past 20 years, I’ve worked in many areas of behavioral health, including children’s therapy, community mental health, grief support, hospice care, integrated healthcare, clinical supervision, teaching, and behavioral health leadership. Each experience has taught me something valuable about people, resilience, and healing.
But if I’m being honest, some of my greatest lessons didn’t come from a classroom or a training program.
They came from life.
As a wife and a mother , I understand the realities of trying to balance responsibilities while still caring for yourself. I understand that people are often carrying far more than anyone can see on the surface. Between work, relationships, parenting, caregiving, grief, stress, and everyday responsibilities, life can feel overwhelming at times.
One of the reasons I love this work is because I know what it feels like to need a safe place to sort through life’s challenges without judgment.
You don’t have to show up with the right words. You don’t have to have everything figured out. You don’t have to be falling apart to deserve support.
Whether you’re navigating anxiety, grief, relationship challenges, parenting concerns, life transitions, or simply feeling stuck, my goal is to create a space where you can be yourself, exhale, and begin moving toward the life you want.
At the end of the day, therapy isn’t about being perfect.
It’s about healing, growing, and learning how to carry life’s challenges in a way that feels lighter and more manageable.
I’m honored to walk alongside people as they do that work.
My Approach to Therapy
I believe therapy should feel like a conversation, not an interrogation.
My style is warm, collaborative, and practical. I work alongside my clients to understand what’s happening, identify patterns that may be keeping them stuck, build on existing strengths, and develop tools that support meaningful change.
Some sessions involve processing emotions and experiences. Others focus on learning new coping skills, improving communication, strengthening relationships, navigating parenting challenges, or creating practical solutions to everyday problems.
No two people are the same, which means therapy shouldn’t be one-size-fits-all. Together, we’ll create an approach that fits your goals, your personality, and your unique circumstances.
You can expect compassion, honesty, encouragement, and sometimes a little laughter along the way.
